The signs are relatively simple. In the event that your heating turns and does not create very little heat, the problem probably comes from the hoses. These clog up over time and no longer allow hot water to reach the heating of this Volvo V50. In this situation, clean the hoses or put new ones. Air pocket in the circuit of the Volvo V50
Anyone with a P1 should consider replacing the heater hoses before they fail. Same thing with the radiator hose above the transmission. The plastic T connect will crack/leak. The coolant bottle will crack open due to age, heat and pressure. Replace if original. There is not any coolant level sensor on any P1 Volvo. Parts pics are from ipdusa.com
